Colophon
What the heck is a colophon?
Basically a colophon is a term borrowed from the publishing world. It’s a page that details how a book was published, ranging from the location to the font choices/typesetting and other details. In a web context, a colophon just talks about how a site was made! A lot of indie sites I admire have them so I decided to make one too!
How this site is made:
- Astro, as the primary frontend “framework” and static site generator tool
- React for some shared components and interactivity, such as the dark mode toggle
- Tailwind CSS for styling
- Gorton Perfected as the primary font
- Side note, I adore this font. It was included as part of my Kickstarter reward for backing the wonderful book Shift Happens, which is a comprehensive tome on the history of all kinds of keyboards
- Mali as an accent font
- Markdown (and a little MDX) for the static content + writing
- Vercel for deployment + hosting
- TypeScript for type safety
- pnpm as a build tool
My pixel portrait
Huge thank-you to the wonderful folks at the IconFactory for making this delightful pixel portrait of me. I backed the Kickstarter for their Tapestry app and getting a pixel portrait was one of the rewards.
